Any clips of the Filipino dub, Ruby? I'd like to hear it. :)

I'm sorry but I guess english spoken people can't pronounce the "r" right.
If your used to the japanese version it just sounds wrong. The german dub is no better regarding the voiceacting but I can see how some people say it's harder for English people to learn japanese...at least regarding pronounciation. ^^

I am reuploading the Mai-HiME Omakes since our other channel went bye bye (blame the bitter ex lover). Plus these are better quality and slightly wider picture. Enjoy! More to come!

Mai-HiME Omake 1 [English Dub/Spanish Subbed]

Mai Tokiha talking about her boobs. :3

Carol-Anne Day as Mai Tokiha

Mai-HiME Omake 2 [English Dub/Spanish Subbed]

Mashiro Kazahana going over Fuuka Academy and trying to cover up it's secrets like the M.I.B.

Katie Rowan as Mashiro Kazahana

So what did we learn? Tokiha-san has great an ego when it comes to her titties and Mashiro is the world's biggest liar. ;3

I, for one, just found it kind of weird to hear Shiz with a Texan accent. This is the primary reason why I still gravitate towards the Japanese version. Well, this is a matter of opinion I guess, to each their own! :D

:3 Oh absolutely, bubble. It's actually quite special to enjoy ShizNat and the rest of the Mai-Series characters in different languages. Variety is a very healthy thing in any anime/manga circle, especially ours. :) I do enjoy the English version despite it making my ears bleed lobsters, but nothing replaces the talents of a Saeko Chiba and a Naomi Shindou. <3

NEWLY ADDED TO MAI-MULTIVERSE CHANNEL:

Mai-HiME Omake 3 [English Dub/Spanish Subbed]

Aoi and Chie break it down for you. And if you're not down with the gossip gals, I've got two words for ya...FAN SERVICE! Firefox said it isn't one word...

Hazel Forman as Chie Harada

Jayna Mitchell as Aoi Senou

Mai-HiME Omake 4 [English Dub]

Shizuru Fujino shares her feelings about Natsuki Kuga. :3

Melanie Risdon as Shizuru Fujino

OH-EE SEN-OH?! Hazel making Chie sound like William Shatner?!

HI. AND. I'M. CHIE. HARADA.

Melanie's Shizuru mispronounces Natsuki for the 100,000,000 time!

WHAT IS A NOT-SOO-KEY!? CAN SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME THAT AT LEAST!?

Watching My-Hime three times (twice dubbed, once subbed), I can say the dub is not too bad. It's nowhere near perfect and some of the voices don't fit the characters (Natsuki, Shizuru) nor sound believable (sometimes Natuski), but there's some good (Dub Nao is awesome). I'd rather watch that over anything dubbed by 4Kids and early Funi DBZ.

Speaking of the My-Hime, it's actually airing on TV. :D

If you get a channel called MNet America (which used to be international channel), they're showing the My-Hime dub (every Wednesday) and a few other Bandai titles. :geek:

Haha! Can you elaborate on why Natsuki's voice didn't sound believable? :) To me, they tried to make her sound like such a butch lesbian. Dub Nao is awesome to me too, the sexy bitterness was captured nicely by Marcy Lannan. 4kids? After they screwed up Tokyo Mew Mew, I never trusted them again...

XD No luck getting MNet America on my cable service. Mai-HiME on TV is like a dream come true. ;_;

Mai-HiME Omake 7 [English Dub]

Nao Yuuki with a message for the STUPID males (who are mostly YouTubers).

Marcy Lannan as Nao Yuuki

Mai-HiME Omake 8 [English Dub]

Akane recalls her confession of love to Kazuya.

Morgan Partridge as Akane Higurashi

:) Oh Nao, you could never bait me with a profile you put so little effort in~

Akane...if only you knew what was coming. *glares at Miyu* Cyber-bitch.

All right, believable is not the right word to describe it. Dub!Natsuki's voice was ok, just a bit off to me at times. Whoa, yeah, you described her voice exactly that a 'butch lesbian'. But after hearing the Japanese seiyuu, it just doesn't compare. I say that being a fan of Natsuki.

I barely got an upgrade package that includes MNet America. It's a pretty cool channel. With anime being so scarce on TV, I'm going to enjoy every little bit MNet offers. XD

No it doesn't. *high fives* Saeko will always be the true Natsuki Kuga, same can be said for the other characters of the Mai-Series. Got to admit, it's fun to have other options; even though they're inferior. ^_~

Heh. ^_^

I don't hate dubs (not the good ones). If a show is dubbed and translated faithfully, I'll enjoy it. I can watch subs and dubs just fine.

Haruka sends a message to the students of Fuuka Academy! English translation below.

Haruka Suzushiro
Candidate for Student Council President
Campaign Speech

Nevertheless! No matter how bright and cheerful our academic environment is and how well it facilitates the student's
sense of independence, it is still important that the basic rules are properly followed!

I'm sure that Shizuru Fujino has found it easy to endear herself to the student body with her soft touch and empty platitudes.

Empty Platitudes

However! Charity doesn't help anyone!

Charity Helps No One

I don't intend to spoil our students! I will tackle my job head on, with fairness and strictness and I hope to create a safe
and healthy school environment! A school brimming with rules and self-discipline with everyone always toeing the line!

Heretical

Younger Students

Oh, what a beautiful scene that would be! Of course, I will listen to students' opinions and those that I do not consider heretical will be integrated into my policy. I do realize that some of the younger students are uneasy with this, but these are very important goals that we must take on! We can have our freedom but we must also adhere to the rules that govern our behavior! For that reason, I feel that I, Haruka Suzushiro, can lead the Student Council and make this school a...

Tonight, MNet aired Episodes 13-14 (~Night of the Tamayura~ & The Targeted Academy)

This is a bit late, but just to keep y'all posted on the dub airings. Nao Yuuki

Last night, MNet America aired Episodes 15-16 (A High School Girl ☆ Soars To the Heavens and Parade ♪).

I remember crying the first time I watched episode 15 and the succeeding episode was a fun watch. My girl Midori having a good time! And seeing Natsuki and Nao in those get-ups... *fangirl drool*. And so next week begins the Carnival event. The story takes a darker turn from here on out.

Update timez. Mikoto Minagi

MNet America aired Episodes 17-18 (Deceitful Lips & ――The Beginning.) last night.

The HiME Force are informed of the 'star' by Nagi. Only way to preserve the world is for a HiME who can defeat the other HiMEs. Some Mai/Tate/Shiho drama, one thing leads to another, and a mysterious flute girl tries to kill Mai. Mikoto comes to the rescue!

Mai doesn't want to fight. Natsuki and Nao end up in a fight... just a lot of chaotic events. Next week, things get even more chaotic! Can't wait for next week!

Re: Bandai Entertainment's English dub for Mai HiME/Otome

Post by SoulEaterHaruhis0s on Fri Sep 09, 2011 2:43 am

My net's been down nearly a whole week, but here's the weekly HiMe MNet America update! Midori

Anywho, MNet America aired Episodes 19-20 (Labyrinth of the Heart & Dance of Flames/Tears of Destiny) this week. Now for my quick overview:

Needless to say, our HiME Rangers turn against each other. Yukino is blackmailed into fighting Mai. Akira shows devotion to Takumi, leaving Mai with the notion her brother can take care of himself. This leaves Mai in disarray over what she wants out of her life. Shiho kisses Tate right where Mai sees them.

The flute-playing girl and her crow Child reappear, leading to Mikoto reappearing (after a falling out with Mai previous episode). A huge fight ensues with HiMEs! Akira's Child is killed by Mikoto. With her Child killed, Akira loses the one she deeply cares for... and Mai loses her brother, who tragically evaporates in her arms. Enraged, Mai unleashes Kagutsuchi! Another mysterious HiMe shows up, and one thing leads to another. Last we leave is Mai walking in the rain and runs into... Reito.

Two really impactful episodes this week. Mai and Mikoto's friendship falls apart, solid HiME fighting, and our main lead watches her own brother vanish. It all ends on a heartbreaking note this week. I really felt for Mai this week. Poor girl. :(

Next week, the 'mysterious' HiME ( Shizuru Kaichou ) comes to someone's rescue. Wink

And the Obsidian Prince shows himself. Uh oh.

Good episodes this week, albeit the heartbreaking ending.

I don'T know if someone already uploaded it here but... if you think that BANDAI did a bad job, look at THIS and CRY!

(also... as for part 2, take care of how Yukino pronounces Haruka = HAKA )

I'm NOT kidding you. This. Is. The. Worst. And no, it's not a fandub (it sounds pretty much like it, right?). This is the REAL material. Shame on you, germany. BIG SHAME!

German Natsuki sounds kinda hot to me, dunno why. o_o The rest of it sounds weird, especially how they pronounce names. XD That perverted Kino-chan was right about the dubbing it seems, if only I were more of an expert in the German language, I could point out specific flaws. I did so last year with a Spanish Mai-HiME fandub, another awful mess.

Here's a few of our latest uploads on YouTube:

Ryoko Shintani and Jayna Mitchell as Aoi Senou
Mai Nakahara and Carol-Anne Day as Mai Tokiha

Mai Otome Raw/Dub Comparisons Part I: Arika Yumemiya vs. WATER!

Our first Mai Otome request from a year ago! We're reuploading Mai-Otome video comparisons we lost in our other account, as with the Mai-HiME ones. Like I said a long time ago, I can't find anything special about this clip. XD Arika does look cute in that bathing suit though. I love Angie Beers as Arika, she really does justice to her ditziness and heroic nature. I believe she voiced Mika-sensei in the Doki Doki School Hours dub. Just listen to her "Awwww!" XD Only one V/A in the world can do that. Keep those requests coming! ^_^ Any specific scene from Mai HiME and Mai Otome you wanna see in sub/dub, just message me as always.

"Nina Entangled... orz"
"Nina, Makareru... orz" (ニナ、まかれる...orz)
