So, what's Mai HiME Destiny all about and how is it different from the HiME anime and manga?

My-HiME Destiny (-HiME Destiny, Mai-HiME Destiny) is a light novel series published in Hobby Japan's monthly magazine, Novel Japan. It is the third universe established by the My-HiME Project. Like the My-Otome universe that went before it, it uses many elements from the My-HiME anime and manga series, such as the same character names and designs (My-Otome changed parts of the names to reflect a more European setting), but with different lead characters and a different premise (HiME are absent and are instead replaced by MiKO and psychic characters). Currently twelve chapters have been released.

That's the Sunday school version, yes. Keep in mind that it has nothing to do with the anime or manga. It uses some of the characters from HiME and Otome, but gives them new roles. An alternate universe really. What separates the 80s Turtles from the 00s Turtles. The Sailor Moon anime and manga. So on and so forth. We get a new girl, espers, Shizuru with a katana (<3), plus more focus on certain characters. Like Takeda (the passions of youth guy ^_- ) who plays a larger role. Also, Mai HiME Destiny is only in novel form, although I heard it was planned to become an anime (Mai..no...Mayo-MiKO!?). No proof of that, just fan discussion from last year on You Tube. ^^;

And don't forget chapter 8 in the main page/news page, http://www.makimakimanga.com/index.php , and also, I heard that Ris want to pass MH Destiny on to another translation group like Baka-tsuki or any other groups like this forum. She said that she is really sick of translating MH Desinty becuz she dislike the novel for some reason, and that's why she still put that as current project where she stops at chapter 8 and keep constantly doing Girlfriends, and the NOW recently Sweet Peach. NOT EVEN a hold/drop on MH Destiny yet from Ris since June 6th, 2007.

Dear Luu Sky Sapphire, I'm hoping after you translate the whole series of EXA, will you talk to Ris from MakiMaki Scanlations about translating the later chapters like 9 - 13, so that she can concentrate on the recent Sweet Peach manga series as of right now.

Hmm, I wanted to tackle MH Destiny for the longest time. Obviously I passed on it for the sole reason that MakiMaki Scanlations was working on it. We at ShizNat Webs/Mai-Multiverse only worked on what was brand new or needed a revamp. I'd love to work on MH Destiny and get it released immediately. If what you say is true (not doubting you, this is in case Ris decides to continue it), then I'll see what I can do. If the fans want something out of Mai-fandom, then we'll deliver any way we can.

Why not? She's not very important in Otome 0-Sifr, but maybe it is the reason why she is the main character here, as she didn't have an important role it is easier I think.

To be fair, Arika's appearance at the end of Mai-HiME and the fake movie trailer was meaningless too...until Mai-Otome made it's debut, then we grew on her. Same logic for Mayo, she's just less famous.

Check the comic or you can say manga section of this page, http://www.my-zhime.net/others/main.html... that's why it existed. Altho is not directly canon within the Destiny timeline tho. Mayo got a seal handcuff already in the beginnng and kidnap by a yakuza before transferring to Fuuka Academy or whatever the school called in Destiny in original light novel.

Man, Sunrise needs to REALLY stop with the alternatives nao and get a REAL sequel already that's connected.
