Personal themes for YOURSELF!

Post by Kiros Razer on Sun Jul 14, 2013 9:50 am

Personal Themes or songs you would use about your life.
I used many types including from Anime
and or whatever so do the same for fun.:D
Mine will be boring since I think a lot.

Anime:

Canta Per Me by Yuki Kajiura
(It's Kirika's theme in Noir but feels like it fits me.)

Green Bird
Music: Yokko Kanno
Singer: Valentin Coupeau

(My thinking theme.)

Nostalgia and Nowhere are both by Fiction Junction YUUKA
(Both songs have always called out to me.
Nostalgia is beautiful but the feeling feels like me.
While nowhere is familiar feel and sound in life.
but the songs each have their own ways.)

Game:
Rose of May by Nubou Uematsu
(Beatrix's theme in FFIX because it feels like seeks out my own personal feelings too.)

General Music:

Blue Monday (Covered by Orgy)
(So much more emotion to me than New Order's version and I was born a week before Blue Monday in January.)

Désenchantée (Covered by Kate Ryan)
(I know these lyrics of being disenchanted and needing a hand to guide me through chaos in life and wondering what to do. A french song but lovely.)

Vater Unser By: E Nomine
(A group like Rammstein with gregorian chanting and dance.
German Language but this song is the 23rd Pslam of the bible.
One of my grandmother's ways of helping me find strength.
I find it a good song no matter one's beliefs, I mean how many foreign songs can we tell right off the bat in their meaning?)

Stand by Me: Ben E. King
(My relationship theme.. we all need one to stand by you.)

I remember you by: Skid Row
(Our relationship in full theme, how we each stood by each other and walked together even still after the good and bad. our real song)

Twelve Thirty (Young Girls Are Coming To The Canyon) by: The Mamas & The Papas
(My bed time song as a kid since they are my favorite 60's folk rock group, Cass Elliot is a wonderful woman. I played the piano piece before..^^; I also know some riffs on guitar for their known hit California Dreamin'.. I learn to play  instruments oddly due to this group.. O.o;)

Goodbye Stranger by: Supertramp

(I mean you walk out of my life and this becomes your theme. Razz
Usually relationships.)

Heart of Glass by: Blondie

(How I felt about cruel relationships/people.)

Under Pressure by: Queen and David Bowie

(Queen's music are genuine to how I feel but this sends a certain message to me.)

Beautiful people by: Marilyn Manson

(Reminds me of learning with rhythm sticks and drumming on table with them and by brothers doing the beat on the table and my one doing the voice opening.)

Tuesday's Gone by: Lynyrd Skynyrd
(Not a huge fan of them or Southern Style rock but in truth that's where rock in general originated.
The music to this song matches the lyrics good no matter what.
The melody is sad but shows how it's reflecting on what has already been done.
I feel guilt in my life for things I can't take back most can say get over it,
but as you live you learn better ways to let it go.)

Sword of Damocles by: Rocky Horror picture show
(I know it's not Rocky's real voice he can't sing..can't remember who sang for him.
I had much luck but like Damocles in the actual legend in Greek mythology
I felt that sword was placed over my head to where I felt much worry and anxiety despite my many fortunate events, i'm overall a worrier.)

Purple Rain by: Prince

(A song I'd use for apologizing to people.
It reminds me also of my brother remarrying.
His theme was Hawaiin and he put one of those leis over my neck.
I was like dude, I love you bro but I DO NOT WANT to be leiyed by you, EWWW!
We laughed and later danced to thus together and I said congrats, man during the dance.
People were like isn't that so cuute and he accidentally blushed and flipped off people.)

Hysteria by: Def Leppard

(The night when View Master and I got together that song played and we both got embarrassed and she said you know those 80's songs, they always seem to tell you what you are feeling even if it's only in the slightest.. Oh, I get hysterical, hysteria,Oh can you feel it, do you believe it? It's such a magical mysteria..When you get that feelin', better start believin' 'Cos it's a miracle, oh say you will? my reply that night was yes, we dorks should give it a go! I even countered it with Crimson and Clover but based it on Joan Jett's cover.)

My Classical:

Moonlight Sonata by: Ludwig van Beethoven
(I played this on my own during times to show how I feel on my old Piano..)

Canon in D major: Johann Pachelbel
(I had to play this in front of others but nearly choked up and played it by how I felt the music and my own feelings involved. It feels like a big part of me in some way..but not much of a musician anymore, I can play other instruments but not on a great level or anything.)

Ride Of The Valkyries by: Richard Wagner
(Would be appropriate for my funeral not to sound morbid,
but i see it as what I'd choose for an end of the world theme.
I mean it's technically my end, so have it as my epic battle theme of life. )

We had similar threads like the "lyrics that move your soul" thread and the "what would your theme song be" thread. This one asks for descriptions/reasons to go along with your choice, so I won't merge it. :)

I often like to know what songs seem to help shape who we are.
I feel having themes in our lives kind of give us
a personal soundtrack for who we are.

What we been through and makes us a whole being.
Music tends to describe my thoughts and feelings
more than any amounts of words could ever.
I often have a curious side too about others,
i was searching for threads just for this but found none..

I think the songs you chose are quite lovely and seem to have a nice sound to them.
I like your personal soundtrack of themes.:D

Thank you :) Also, try not to double-post, Razer :) There's always the "edit" button :)

Is double post on here meaning:

Two in a row posts?
both were different things I replied towards. ^^;
That was why I asked.

I thought double in my head as a duplicated post, maybe.
(Kind of how I viewed double vision, two of the same thing.)
In case I did this once before.
I kind of need to know what is acceptable on this.

When I am certain I'll try to not do that!

I will try things like fitting it in one if that what you all are wanting.

I just want to say before I list my themes that, in many cases, I don't know who the original composer/artist was. With that in mind, let's get rolling.

This is the first theme that I feel really speaks to me (will paste link because I don't know where else to find it):

In a way, I guess it symbolizes my general outlook on things, and also conveys clearly the feeling I sometimes get of being completely trapped in something hopeless, hostile, with no possible hope of escape. At one point, that feeling along with this music gave me so much inspiration for a fanfic that, as I wrote, I listened to it nonstop to keep that feeling alive and, in so doing, fuel the desire to write that fic (which featured a theme throughout much of the story of that "trapped in a hostile environment with no possible hope of escape" feeling that I felt).

A second theme for me could possibly be Dragonland- Under the Grey Banner, symbolizing the need for me to get down and work, be it on studies, or on fun stuff.
