Has anyone done this?

Post by SpiralDasher on Sun Apr 29, 2012 6:35 am

So I found this shipping template someone made a year back. It can be found here, and it only seems to cover the Mai Hime anime, not Mai Otome: http://jencross.deviantart.com/art/Mai-HiME-Ship-Meme-Blank-254256482

I was wondering if anyone's filled something like this out for this fandom, and if they have, if they'd want to share it here. =)

I really want to do this, but I'm using a Mac and it doesn't have a program that would allow me to make the lines. ^^; (Would someone be willing to help?)

Surely, Photoshop would do the trick to this. If you don't have one, you just search all over the 'net for a portable CS3 version.

This meme, I hadn't noticed this before... Let me try it once I get done over some errands.

Are we meant to only put our primary ship in? Because otherwise mine will be a giant mess of red and purple XD

Are there no drawing apps on Mac? How odd 0_0 Well, you can search for photoshop online (or pm me and I'll point you in the right direction lol), but if you're still struggling, just lemme know your ships and I can fill it out for you? :)

I agree with Koi, you can download portable Photoshop for this dashy, they're compact sizes and I think they have a Mac version :3

I'm considering doing this actually. Dunno if I'll post it on deviantart or not, and yes Photoshop CS3 may not be the fresh new hotness these days but it is still a reliable and still worthy art program to have. Though I'm still considering getting my hands on painttool Sai at some point

CS3 is much MUCH better than CS6 I heard. CS6 has the worst PNG result in photoshop history they said :/ And SAI is good! Maybe you can give it a try, though with your skills there wouldn't be any difference in quality me thinks Nao Yuuki

Thanks for the compliment. Good to hear that CS3 is still good to work with and that I don't need to get an upgrade of it. I've worked with my copy of CS3 for so long its like second nature to me with all the tricks I've learned. I've tried working with Painter 12 but its not my thing. I initially got it because this one artist I follow uses a specific brush on there to draw his characters but that never works out for me. Hoping SAI will be better in that regard and in coloring my characters

You've used painter 12? My friends have used it but weren't all that happy with their results. They'd either stick with PS or SAI that they're familiar with :O

Used it and done hardly anything with it other than test the brushes to see how they work in drawing a character. Good to hear that SAI is good, though some people have been mentioning some good things about Mangastudio

Mangastudio is good, I've got a copy of it but hasn't had the chance to use it yet, but I've seen the amazing results on deviantart.... But I haven't heard of people using it for illustrations tho. Thought that it's for grayscale illustrations only.

I'll consider my long quest of hunting down art programs done and over with when I can find one that will allow me to draw a character in it that doesn't look pixellated and jagged all along the edges and will feel just like using a real pencil on a real piece of paper
