HiME Without Series: The Mai-Verse without Haruka Suzushiro HiME

My last Without Series for now, I swear! XD I still have to reply to the rest!

Haruka Suzushiro, Executive Director of the Student Council, is considered quite a loud, obnoxious and aggressive person by all. All except that one special girl known as Yukino Kikukawa, best friend who is secretly in love with her Haruka-dear. Oops, wrong series for that joke. ;p

I suppose you could say Fuka would become a very chaotic place brimming with little to no rules, not like it's stops any of the HiME from doing what they must. Though Haruka lost the election against Shizuru, that didn't stop her from laying down the law. Without her during the Orphan arc...honestly, nothing would change much apart from that.

During the Carnival arc, Haruka's absence would of guaranteed more alone time for ShizNat. ^^; Not a good thing seeing how Natsuki would be completely left in the dark about Shizuru's actions during her sleep. Some would also say Haruka's presence was essential to Shizuru going into psycho mode. Yukino would also be rendered useless, you think? Comments below!

Without Haruka, military tanks would be safe! Donate your old metal junk and help a little tank today.

Other than the military being safer, Haruka missing would mean psycho Yukino, we all saw her little dark self in the special released with the blu ray, without her only friend protecting her in her childhood I think she would turn out pretty bitter. And, combined with her brains she would manipulate the hell out of everybody else and get her hands dirty when needed. I'd like to see that Yukino!
Shiznat wise, if the scenario I described above did indeed happen, then she would have arranged for Natsuki and Shizuru to go through all of that anyway!

I like these without series, I get to see how other characters would develop without knowing some others! More please.

Dear Haruka Suzushiro,

Stop stomping a mud hole in our tanks, plz?

Thanks! I'm Barack Obama and I approve this message.

o_o;;; I thought the war was over, dude.

I agree with the former. Without Haruka protecting her, Yukino would be quite the outsider. So much that she wouldn't even be involved in the Student Council at all. Is it strange of me to think she would be a slightly more interesting character that one? The self-hating emo female is done to death in other anime, but I feel Yukino would of been more deceitful and intense during the Carnival arc. Making the goal of accepting love and friendship (you know, the Sailor Moon thing) feel quite rewarding, should this AU Yukino get such a happy ending. As we've seen in the canon anime, Yukino had made tons of friends around her despite the shyness. Who knows...probably not since every HiME had their own agenda to worry about. ;_;

XD Captain, the Yukino you're describing would be capable of broadcasting what Shizuru and Natsuki are up to for the entire school. That would of been interesting and built up some sort of rivalry for Shizuru and Yukino. ^^; Oh wait, Yukino still has Diana right? Not good. *looks at the Naginata* Screw Kiyohime, the Element was enough.

Thanks, Cap. I feel that these characters only work because of their supporting cast members. Most of all, the Most Precious Person in their lives.

Re: Without Series: The Mai-Verse without Haruka Suzushiro

The series without Haruka Suzushiro? As one of my favorite Mai HiME characters I do have to say that without Haruka I don't see any room for Natsuki to forgive Shizuru. Natsuki would see no reason to battle it out against Shizuru and it would make their defeat that much more destructive. Let me explain in detail why this is. Haruka being loud as she is did point out Shizuru's mistake. Losing Natsuki made Shizuru snap. If Shizuru never snapped a lot of touching scenes would never have occurred. Haruka would have never stood up to Shizuru and she never would have been so willing to throw her life away for Yukino, because she simply wouldn't exist. Yukino would have never stepped in to defend her closest friend either; again, Haruka would not exist. The second touching scene that never would have occurred is Natsuki's confrontation against Shizuru. That epic battle would have never happened. Because these two scenes are impossible to have occurred, let's go through the possibilities of a world without Haruka.

It's possible that the Obsidian Lord would have pitted Natsuki against Shizuru, though we'll never know for sure. Why do I say this? Someone has to defeat Shizuru and only Natsuki seems really capable of doing that, save for maybe Mai. Shizuru has nothing against anyone who hasn't harmed Natsuki, so she wouldn't see a reason to harm Mai, making a battle against her pointless. Mai is actually against the HiME fighting, so I can't see her picking a fight against Shizuru either. To be perfectly honest, I don't know if I see Shizuru as the council president in a world that Haruka never existed. Who would she have run against? Reito? What if Reito had won instead? Where would Shizuru be? What would she be like? All I can say is Shizuru snapped when she lost Natsuki. I can see her snapping anyway even without Haruka, but the circumstances in which she snapped would be different. If she did indeed snap anyway the confrontation between Natsuki and Shizuru might still happen; in my opinion, however, it wouldn't be the same epic battle.

Maybe Natsuki would have been the one to defeat Yukino. It's hard to see it in Yukino's character now, but without friends a person can become...well, it depends on who we're talking about here. I don't think I know Yukino well enough to determine the differences in her character without Haruka. Nevertheless, I'll give it a go. She might become malicious and cruel, and as mentioned prior to my post use her intelligence to manipulate other people. Without a friend like Haruka to protect her she wouldn't be the same Yukino. She'd be incomplete and maybe vengeful and hateful. Like I said, I don't know Yukino well enough to truly determine how she'd change without Haruka. This is probably down someone else's ally. I'm suggesting that Natsuki might be the one to defeat Yukino for a few reasons. One of those reasons is I can see Yukino having a breakdown and attacking all the HiME. She might even have a different Child. Another reason is Yukino might be more willing to attack Natsuki without Haruka around. The possibilities of a world without Haruka are endless.

Chances are the school would be more chaotic too and I can't see a lot of rules being enforced, especially if the Obsidian Lord happened to be the student council president. Without Haruka that would just be a recipe for disaster. Let's also take another route here. Yukino might be on the student council but she might have manipulated a few people to get there. She might even become hell-bent on enforcing a bunch of rules. Yes, my friends, Yukino might become corrupted with power and make the school just the way she wants it while being a HiME behind the scenes. Yukino would probably look different too. I can see Yukino most negatively affected by not having Haruka around, so that's why she takes up the majority of this post. Anyway, this discussion could really go on forever.

It would be a great loss of a great character to the series.

... I'd write something more substantial and thought-up, but I just woke up and can't think. Maybe I'll write something more thought-provoking later. Maybe.

Haruka was the only person who kept Yukino's head on straight. I can imagine being bullied constantly as a child and being somewhat antisocial could of created a misguided Yukino. Even in that state of mind, I *could* still see her assisting with the Searrs Foundation invasion at best, knowing her ass is on the line. The Carnival on the other hand, brought about the highest level of paranoid and fear imaginable.

Hold on! Who would be Yukino's Most Important Person in a universe without Haruka-dear? She'd be too lonely to really have anyone she truly cares for (I can exclude parents here as they were never mentioned. Even if they were, I doubt a girl with a rough childhood could possibly speak warmly about them). My best guess would be one of the Twelve HiME that she formed a bond with. Not in the same way with Haruka mind you, I doubt she would fall in love that fast (okay, this is anime, but still...let's just say Sunrise wrote this a little more realistically), but in a way that shows she can trust SOMEONE at Fuuka. I'd say Mai or Midori as they're people persons, although in an alternate universe, I think they may be reserved for someone else's MIP affections. It's hard to say really.

XD Haruka's kick is one thing, Miyu's kick would send that tank flying into space. (ironic as Haruka's OTHER incarnation is capable of doing just that...)

A little off-topic, but you girls amuse me. Shizuru Fujino Thanks!

Hmm... I think the Resident HaruKino Fanwhore can tell you exactly how Yukino Kikukawa would be. Not to be cocky, but... yeah. I've got this, guys.

Yukino Kikukawa would be different, of course. She'd be pushed and made fun of more and more fiercely. She's different, brilliant, and (in my opinion, at least) an attractive girl. She wouldn't have had a Haruka to save her from bullies once, or twice, or ever. She'd grow to distrust everyone except perhaps her family, even then she'd be distant. She'd be focused on her school work and as she got older she'd form very shallow bonds with those around her. She wouldn't get 'close' to anyone and would find people to be more of a nuisance than anything. I'd say they'd eventually get tired of going after her and she'd be left alone because, honestly, she'd stop reacting and they'd see her as a doll almost. One of the smarted kids in class, if not the smartest, and the only one who would be the emotionless one. She wouldn't show weakness, nor probably cry in front of anyone. Haruka gave her a sense of protection to where she didn't have to cut herself off because if anyone tried anything Haruka would, basically, take all the hits for herself. She'd stand up and make herself the center of attention to remove that negative attention from Yukino. Without that, Yukino ends up fading into the background. I don't honestly believe she'd be 'evil' and go out to destroy people or help SEARRS. She just wouldn't give fucks. Like, not one fuck. In fact, I'd say her MIP would, honestly, be a family member. No one else would make sense. It would prob be either a sibling or some type of relative, because if she trusted anyone it would be her family. It wouldn't make sense for her to trust anyone else. In fact, her MIP changing to a person would be rough, because if she did find the will to trust someone it would take one betrayal to cause her to give less fucks and see both herself and humanity as less than needed. It's not cool, to think Yukino would suffer that way, but she would see it as normal by that point. Haruka isn't the kind of girl to do anything but protect, care, and shit. Yes, Haruka has done thing to hurt Yukino I am sure. I'm sure they've fought, etc etc but if Suzushiro is anything, she's loyal and truly loves Yukino. In fact, regardless of Suzushiro's selfishness and her dragging Yukino into random things whether it be for advice or because, well, Haruka needs Yukino because she loves her and wants her around. In fact, the series would be worse if Haruka was around without Yukino. Haruka wouldn't be as dramatically different as Yukino would be, but it's food for thought about how the infamous Suzushiro would change...

Yukino, in short, would basically give no fucks. Only do things that she felt was needed and would honestly avoid the other HiME and shit. Also, it is likely she wouldn't have searched for Natsuki when she was caught by Miyu and Alyssa. Or she may have just because she wouldn't BE evil, but she wouldn't risk it if she had any chance of discovery. Yukino would be cold, calculating, and would take on whatever roles were forced upon her and not give two fucks about it. The fucks she did give would be for herself, and she would probably destroy anyone or anything that got in her way, if needed.

I think I'm done for now. o.o
